  1. Income Guidelines Update:  USDA has sent an update on the status of the income guidelines used to make income eligibility determinations.  Local agencies should continue to use the current income guidelines (original dates- April 1, 2009- March 31, 2010).  These income guidelines have been extended thru June 30, 2011.  If you have questions, contact Mark Davis at or 573-526-5323 or 800-392-8209.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: NUTRITIONIST - City of Independence Health Department
The Independence City Health Department, in collaboration with DHSS, is initiating a pilot program for a Nutritionist to provide resources and education, particularly for WIC clients, including breastfeeding support for a select group of local public health agencies. Client contact will be done via use of technology with some travel required. This position is full-time with an excellent benefit package. The Osage County Health Department is accepting applications for an Administrator/RN.  The Gasconade County Health Department has chosen to terminate the contract for Osage County Services, therefore the newly formed Osage County Health Department is advertising for an administrator/registered nurse.  Minimum qualifications for this position:  Graduation from a four-year university or college, with specialization in nursing.  Five years of experience in the field of public health, medical care, or a closely related field.  Energetic, hard working registered nurse responsible for health department administration, WIC coordination, Communicable Disease Monitoring and Investigations, coordination of Maternal Child Health, Emergency Management and Planning, and Child Care Provider Consultations contracts is being sought for this new position.
