  1. WIC Help Desk:  The WIC Help Desk staff is currently very busy answering MOWINS and HANDS calls.  We ask that when local agency staff calls the Help Desk with a system problem, they concisely describe the problem they are having so that Help Desk staff can quickly respond.  This will cut down the length of Help Desk calls and will reduce the time local agency staff waits when they call.  For example, if there are 150 calls in a day (a typical amount nowadays) and each call is reduced by 30 seconds, it will save 75 minutes.  If local agency staff have suggestions for improvements to MOWINS or questions about WIC policy or other concerns they should contact their TA staff.  (The TA staff may be out of the office at MOWINS training or at a rollout but will contact you as soon as they can.)  We are committed to providing the best possible customer service and need everyone’s help with this.
If you have questions contact Mark Davis at Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov or 573-526-5323 or 800-392-8209.

  2. MOWINS News Change:  We recently made changes to the MOWINS News Site on the WIC Updates page.  The items are now arranged by topic such as Help Desk and Policies, making it easier to find what you are looking for.

If you have questions contact Mark Davis at Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov or 573-526-5323 or 800-392-8209.

  3. Enfamil NEXT STEP LIPIL Formulas in 28.8 oz cans (Bonus Pack):  Some WIC vendors may carry Enfamil NEXT STEP LIPIL and Enfamil NEXT STEP ProSobee LIPIL in 28.8 oz cans (Bonus Pack) from March through May 2009.  The Missouri WIC program does NOT approve this can size of formula.  If these formulas in 24-oz cans are not available at WIC vendors in your area, please contact the State WIC office to arrange direct shipment.  The State WIC office will order the formula in 24-oz can from Mead Johnson Nutritionals.  If you have questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.

  4. “Growing” Stickers for WIC Children - Growing Stickers:  The State WIC office shipped the “Growing” stickers to local WIC providers who responded to the messages posted on WIC Update on November 17, 2008 and December 22, 2008.  If your agency is interested in using the stickers and has not yet requested them, please e-mail Sheila Dessieux at Sheila.Dessieux@health.mo.gov by March 20, 2009.  The stickers are limited in number at this time; therefore, we will ship the stickers to local WIC providers who requested them.  If you have any suggestions and/or questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.

  5. Plastic Sleeves:  The State WIC office shipped plastic sleeves to local WIC providers who responded to the messages posted on WIC Update on January 13, 2009.  If your agency is in need of plastic sleeves, please e-mail Sheila Dessieux at Sheila.Dessieux@health.mo.gov by March 20, 2009.  If you have any suggestions and/or questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.
