  1. Special Funding 5 (Breastfeeding):  For FY2010 each local WIC provider has been given extra funds to send agency staff to a mandatory breastfeeding training that will be offered later in the year.  These extra funds will be available to your agency through Special Funding (Grant) 5.  Information on the training sites and who is required to attend the training has not yet been released.  Since you need to allocate these funds into specific funding categories in your Local Agency Plan (LAP), it is recommended that you allocate all these funds to personnel.  After more information is provided about the training, you may reallocate funds by using the WIC-9 to the other funding categories as needed.  If you have questions, please contact your District TA team.

  2. Local Agency Plan (LAP):  The FFY 2010 Local Agency Plan (LAP) Caseload, Cost-Per-Participant and Special Funding amounts have been updated by the WIC state office and the online LAP is ready for entry.  It is located at: WICLWP - Forms.  If you have problems accessing the LAP you may need to call the ITSD Help Desk to have your password reset.  To enter data to your LAP for FFY2010 select the agency # from the dropdown list and click on “Access Current WIC LAP” in the lower right of the page.  The LAP contains data that you entered for the previous year, so you will need to verify and revise this data for FFY 2010.  The FFY2010 LAP is to be submitted by Monday, August 31, 2009.
If you have any questions, you may contact Betty Cassidy at 800-392-8209 or by email at

  3. New WIC: Food and Focus Training Materials:  Many of the new food package training materials have been posted to the WIC website at: Food Packages.  The medical documentation form is still under development.  Please check back frequently as additional materials will be posted.  If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact D'Anne Ward at 1-800-392-8209 or email

  4. Update on MOWINS Reports:  We know how important reports are to local agencies; they are important to State staff also.  We continue to have weekly meetings with CSC Covansys, the MOWINS implementation contractor, to have MOWINS reports ready for local agencies to use as soon as possible.  This is our highest priority.  We are working to have a firm time frame for release of MOWINS reports.  As soon as we have it, we will let you know.
If you have questions, contact Mark Davis at or 573-526-5323 or 800-392-8209.

  5. Crystal Reports:  Several requests have been received for instructions to access Crystal Reports.  These instructions are located on the Local WIC Provider web page.
