- Using Satellite Numbers: It has come to our attention recently that several agencies that have more than one site have questions about using the satellite numbers in the HANDS system. The attachments contain some tips and tricks for printing, keying nutrition education, updating cert/recert records, voiding checks and keying new certs/recerts.
If you have any questions about these tips and tricks, please contact the WIC Help Desk at WICHelpDesk@health.mo.gov or 800-554-2544.
- Missouri Voter Registration Application: The Missouri Voter Registration Application (WIC/MVR-1) forms are available at the DHSS warehouse. Please order the form as needed. If you have questions, please contact Takako Tagami at Takako.Tagami@health.mo.gov.
- Missouri WIC Approved Exempt Formulas and Medical Foods: This is to clarify the e-mail notification regarding the discontinuation of non-contract formulas (Effective October 1, 2008). Local WIC providers will still be able to issue the Missouri WIC approved contract infant formulas, exempt formulas, and medical foods to participants. Please review the Missouri WIC Program Reference Sheets for WIC Formulas, WIC Foods, and Food Packages list of formulas. Only the non-contract infant formulas are being discontinued. We will be sending out the revised Missouri WIC Program Reference Sheets for WIC Formulas, WIC Foods, and Food Packages by September 1, 2008.
If you have questions please contact your district nutritionist for technical assistance.
- New WIC Staff Member: WIC is pleased to announce that Beth Thompson has joined us. Beth is a former WIC staff member and is pleased to see all the positive changes in the program during the last 8 years. She has experience working with contracts and monitoring in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. You'll notice Beth's name on the monitor letters as she assumes the role of both Monitor Coordinator and Central District technical assistance. Feel free to contact Beth and welcome her back to WIC. You may reach Beth at 573-751-6196 or Beth.Thompson@health.mo.gov.
