- WIC Audit Closure Correspondence - Please see attached correspondence in reference to destruction of WIC records. If you have any questions, please contact Carol Steinman at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-392-8209.
- Color Laser Printers - The State WIC Office has a limited number of Xerox 8500 DN color laser printers available to agencies that have a need for another color printer. To request a printer, send an e-mail to Mark Davis, Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov. In the e-mail include a justification for why you need the printer and state how it will be used. Also include your monthly caseload. Send in your request to Mark Davis by 5:00 on June 12. You will be notified by e-mail by 5:00 on June 23. Agencies that receive a printer will be responsible for buying ink and paper needed for the printer. This printer will likely not be replaced by the State WIC office when it becomes obsolete.
If you have questions, contact Mark Davis at Mark.Davis@health.mo.gov or 1-800-392-8209.
- Extra Formula - A database listing unused infant formulas and medical foods is maintained at the State WIC Office. With the implementation of the approval authority for many infant formulas and medical foods now at the local agency level the State Office may not always know what extra formula is available at the LWPs. Please notify your district nutritionist or D'Anne Ward (email@example.com) when you have unused formula available at your agency so it can be added to the database. The formula listing will be sent to the LWPs on a monthly basis so you are kept up-to-date on what is available at other LWPs. To keep food/formula costs down, please check the listing in order to utilize formulas with the most recent expiration date first. Attached are the current listing of extra formula available at different LWPs and 2 sets of instructions for shipping the formulas via UPS to assist you when sending or receiving a supply of infant formula. You have 2 ways for shipping the formula to another LWP via UPS. One option is to fill out an electronic UPS form and send via the web to UPS or use the second option by filling out the hardcopy UPS form and calling UPS. If you have any questions regarding this information, please contact D'Anne Ward at 1-800-392-8209 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Correction - Congratulations to the Ozark County Health Department WIC Program and the Daviess County Health Department WIC Program who submitted winning entries in the 2007 NWA WIC Calendar Children's Drawing Competition. In January 2006, the National WIC Association sent out a request to state and local agencies for WIC kids and WIC graduates up to age 8 to participate in the calendar drawing competition. Three WIC kids/graduates from Ozark County Health Department are winners of a $50 gift certificate from Scholastic, Inc. that can be redeemed for books, educational toys, videos and games. Their artwork will be featured in the 2007 NWA calendar. Two WIC kids/graduates from Ozark County Health Department and one from Daviess County Health Department are consolation prize winners whose artwork will not be featured in the calendar. They will receive a $25 gift certificate from Scholastic. As you all know, the children's drawings are what make the NWA calendar special!
