SUBJECT:  Mandatory Fall WIC Program Updates Training

The one-day sessions will provide attendees with updated program information and clarification regarding program issues. New information regarding policy and procedures as well as any administrative changes will be addressed.  The trainings will be delivered via videoconference from the WIC training facility in Jefferson City. Please attend at the location closest to your office or home. District health office locations and WIC training facility are listed below.

Agenda Items include Civil Rights, Top 10 Monitor Findings, MDHSS Program for Dietetic Interns, Missouri Dental Association, Policy changes, Revision 8 and Value Enhanced Nutrition Assessment (VENA), 24 hour Diet Recall, and Formula Issuance, Formula Food Packages & Food Items Codes.

Training Dates: October 3rd, 4th, 21st, and 31st, 2005.
All district health offices are available for the above dates.    

Time:  9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  (Lunch - on your own 11:30 a.m - 12:45 p.m)
9-11 a.m. will include administrative topics, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. will include nutrition topics

Jefferson City:  WIC Nutrition Training Room, 930 Wildwood
Eastern District:  220 South Jefferson, St. Louis
Northeastern District:  708 Patton, Macon
Northwestern District: 3717 Whitney Ave., Independence
Southeastern District:  2875 James Blvd., Poplar Bluff
Southwestern District:  1414 West Elfindale, Springfield

One coordinator from each agency must attend the training. If the WIC Coordinator and/or Nutrition Coordinator cannot attend, the agency CPA or Nutritionist should attend. A maximum of two (2) attendees per agency will be permitted. Please state on the attached registration form your first and second choice for the training date and location. Fax the registration form as instructed to the State WIC office before September 15th, 2005. Please register using the attached form only.

Every attempt will be made to register attendees for their first choice of training date and location.
