Other Required Trainings (no registration needed):

Applicant Processing Standards - Required for all new trainees or use as “refresher” training for current staff or staff returning from a break in service over 1 year. Completion required within 60 days of date of hire. This training provides an overview of the time frames required to certify new participants from the date of request, as well as documentation needed for the initial certification appointment.

Income Assessment and Documentation - Required for all new trainees or use as “refresher” training for current staff or staff returning from a break in service over 1 year. Completion required within 60 days of date of hire. This training provides an overview of assessing income for participants to determine income eligibility; documentation for proof of income; adjunctive eligibility; and obtaining a zero income affidavit for individuals who are not adjunctively eligible and declare no income.

Orientation to WIC Module - Required for all new trainees or use as “refresher” training for current staff or staff returning from a break in service over 1 year. Completion required within six months from date of hire. 

Breastfeeding Promotion Presentation - Required for all new staff or staff returning from a break in service over 1 year.  Completion required within 30 days from date of hire.

Civil Rights Manual – Required for all new trainees or use as “refresher” training for current staff or staff returning from a break in service over 1 year.  Completion required within 60 days from date of hire and then annually thereafter.  

WIC Immunization Training Webinar - Required for all new staff or use as “refresher” training for current staff or staff returning from a break in service. Completion required within 60 days of the date of hire or rehire from a break in service over 1 year and annually  thereafter using the state provided training materials.

Nutrition Training Manual (NTM) – Required for new CPA staff (physicians, nutritionists, registered dietitians, dietetic technicians, and registered nurses) or use as “refresher” training for current staff or staff returning from a break in service over 1 year. Completion required within six months from date of hire and then every five years thereafter.

Counseling Guides - provides anticipatory guidance on anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, dietary and breastfeeding. These guides are intended for use by the CPAs who provide nutrition education and counseling using the 3-Step Counseling method for women, infants and children. Note: This resource is optional.

National Voter Registration Act Training – Required for all new trainees within six months from date of hire and then annually thereafter.

Nutrition Services Documentation Training – This webinar is mandatory for all CPAs & Nutritionists who did not attend the face-to-face training. The webinar must be completed by February 29, 2012. The purpose of this webinar is due to numerous requests from local WIC providers requesting additional guidance on documentation standards for goal setting, the high-risk care plan and oral assessment. Must have at least Adobe Flash Player 10 to view this webinar.

New and Revised Nutrition Risk Criteria Training - This webinar is mandatory for all WIC Certifiers, CPAs & Nutritionists. The webinar must be completed by October 1, 2012. The purpose of the training is to provide the certifying staff with information on new and revised risk factors based on the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Growth Charts for Children Aged 0-59 Months.  One hour of Continuing Nutrition Education (CNE) will be offered for completing this training.
