Missouri Injury and Violence Prevention Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Missouri Injury and Violence Prevention Advisory Committee (MIVPAC) is to provide advice, expertise, and guidance to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Injury and Violence Prevention Program and to establish injury prevention as a state priority.  The Committee’s responsibilities include assisting the Injury and Violence Prevention Program in its mission to reduce the rate of morbidity and mortality to Missouri residents by:

The Injury and Violence Prevention Advisory Committee addresses all injury areas including: unintentional injuries, assaults, and self-inflicted injuries.

MIVPAC Member List

The Missouri Injury and Violence Prevention state plan for 2010-2015 was developed by the Missouri Injury and Violence Prevention Advisory Committee (MIVPAC) in conjunction with The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and The Brown Center for Violence and Injury Prevention. The six Injury Areas addressed are child abuse and neglect, sexual violence against women, falls in elderly, motor vehicle injuries, traumatic brain injury, and suicide. The plan includes action steps to be implemented to achieve the goals and objectives to reduce the burden of those injury types.
