A Distance Learning/Telemedicine (DLT) Grant Program Workshop is scheduled on March 16, 2011 in Columbia, Missouri. Chris Collins, General Field Representative for USDA Rural Development, will be providing general information on the DLT program including: funding opportunities, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Damon Porter, the new Director of Mo Broadband Now, will also be highlighting some of the initiatives on bringing broadband internet access to rural areas of Missouri.

The DLT program is designed specifically to meet the educational and health care needs of rural America. Through loans, grants and loan/grant combinations, advanced telecommunications technologies provide enhanced learning and health care opportunities for rural residents.
