September is National Preparedness Month

The Department of Health and Senior Services encourages all Missourians to prepare for emergencies such as natural disasters during National Preparedness Month.  Through DHSS’ emergency preparedness program, Ready in 3, you can obtain information on what you can do at home, school, and work to prepare for emergency circumstances of all kinds.  Ready in 3 includes three steps you can take to become prepared: create a family plan; prepare an emergency kit; and listen for information about what to do and where to go during an actual emergency.

Visit the Ready in 3 website:  http://health.mo.gov/emergencies/readyin3 to access the tools that will help you prepare you, your family and your community for emergencies.    Please also refer to the Disaster Preparedness Planning Template for long-term care facilities, a tool to assist facilities in developing a comprehensive disaster preparedness plan:  http://health.mo.gov/emergencies/readyin3/adultcare.php
